Our Story: Why Austin Needed a Better Park
What began as a shared workplace quickly turned into a lasting friendship—and a shared passion for dogs. Three friends, united by their love for their pups and their community, set out with a simple goal: to preserve and reimagine the North Austin private dog park. Through hard work, determination, and plenty of sweat, that vision became Brew & Paws. We poured our energy, creativity, and commitment into building a space where dogs and their humans can come together to eat, drink, relax, and have fun. Many of you may already know John and Rebecca Hernandez—proud parents of Coco—from the former Mutt’s community. Today, alongside them, we’re excited to introduce Laura Pinkston (mom to Chewie and Mack) and Michael Pope as the owners of Brew & Paws. Together, we are dedicated to creating a welcoming, vibrant place for our members and their pups to connect, unwind, and enjoy life—one wag at a time.
The Experience: Pups & Peeps
We’ve combined the best parts of a world-class off-leash park with the soul of an Austin neighborhood bar.
For the Dogs: Sprawling, not kidding, 1.6 acres of room to roam, professionally maintained play areas featuring a mix of soft mulch and specialized permeable turf, plenty of shade, and fresh water stations.
For the Humans: A full-service bar featuring local Austin brews, hand-crafted cocktails, and a kitchen serving up food that’s actually worth coming for—even if you don't have a dog.
Safety First (So You Can Relax)
The biggest difference at Brew and Paws? Peace of mind. Unlike public parks, we are a membership-based community. Every dog that enters our gates is vetted for vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP/Parvo, and Bordetella, and must be socialized and friendly.
Our secret weapon is our team of Bark Rangers. These "play-referees" are stationed throughout the park to monitor body language and keep the peace. When we say "86 the chaos," we mean it. You focus on your beer; we’ll focus on the ball.
Our Mission
To foster a community of like-minded people who believe that "taking the dog out" should be the highlight of the day, not a chore. Whether you're here to work remotely, answer a few emails over our high-speed Wi-Fi, or celebrate a "Gotcha Day" with a round of drinks, we’re here to make sure everyone leaves with a wagging tail.
